Sharbat is a form of drink for cooling and refreshment purpose. It was introduced to India by Mughals. Sharbat was traditionally made with cane juice, now it is made with lime, sugar, and water. Lime is added to give a flavor to the sweet water. Nowadays many different flavors of Sharbat are invented.
I make Pudina Sharbat during summertime. Mint is a cooling and refreshing herb. It is used in many culinary. Mint has medicinal quality in it. It improves digestion as well.
This sharbat is beat the heat drink. It is an easy and quick recipe.
1/2 cup of mint leaves
1/2 cup of sugar (honey can be used as an alternative)
1 tsp of rock salt ( salt can be used)
1/4 cup of lemon juice.
4 cups of water.
- Grind mint leaves with lemon, sugar, and salt to make a smooth puree.
- Add water to it. Drink fresh.
To add flavor mix 1/2 tsp of roasted cumin powder.
Serving glass with ice in Sharbat will improve refreshment.
